“Participation in ARISE has helped me to appreciate just one small "community" within the larger Our Lady Help of Christians community of faith.  I have come to know - much more intimately than attendance at Mass allows - a small group of parishioners and to learn how they experience their own faith amidst the challenges and pleasures of everyday life.  As everyone provides witness to the movement of Christ in each of their lives, I can more fully appreciate His presence in my own life and in this world of ours.  ARISE has expanded, enlightened and informed my view of Church.”

”I joined ARISE hesitantly, with a spirit of openness and exploration, knowing that if I didn't like it, I would just stop going.  However, I kept going back every week and every season.  This season will be my 5th season. One of the leaders that I had in the first season was incredibly inspiring and I attribute to her my sticking with the program. All I can say is that when I compare myself now to how I was in the first season, I have come a long way (but I still have a long way to go) in understanding, in praying, reflecting, in developing a relationship with God...slowly but surely.”

To discover them, their hidden gifts, their insight, their faith - and now I have so many good friends in the Church thus making me feel more connected, and giving me a deeper, more open, and much richer sense of the Parish. I also have become more involved in the Church as a Eucharistic Minister and belong to the Men's Group too. ARISE became a launching pad for me to go to Cursillo.  God bless you all.”

“The ARISE program was beneficial to me in a two-fold way.  The experience provided an informal and informative course of study of the weekly Scripture readings with helpful sources for discussion, thus offering a deeper understanding of the readings.  Additionally, it provided opportunity to meet a variety of parishioners in a more fulfilling way, as opposed to just greeting people weekly at Mass or other church functions.  Our group contained a rich representation from our varied parishioners as well as some visitors from other parishes.”
