Exchange of Vows

At the time when the bride and groom will exchange vows, the priest will invite the couple to stand before the community of faith and declare their consent. The bride and groom will join hands and...
The groom says...
	I, N., take you, N., to be my wife. I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I will love you and honor you all the days of my life.

The brides says...
	I, N., take you, N., to be my husband. I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I will love you and honor you all the days of my life.

In the dioceses of the United States, the following alternative form may be used:
The bride & groom say...
	I, N., take you N., for my lawful wife/husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part.

While couples typically recite the traditional wedding vows, some couples prefer to create their own wedding vows. This is fine, however, we ask that couples write their vows carefully and tastefully so that they encompass the full meaning of the marriage sacrament.

Blessing and Exchange of Rings

Immediately following the exchange of vows, the priest will bless the rings and...
The groom places his wife's ring on her ring finger and says...
	N., take this ring as a sign of my love and fidelity. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

The brides places her husband's ring on his ring finger and says...
	N., take this ring as a sign of my love and fidelity. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
