“Because I was an altar server at Mother Teresa’s Mass, I was able to be very close to her. I feel very honored and lucky.”

Altar Servers
Coordinator: Chris Graf
In this special ministry boys and girls grades 4 and up assist the presider at the weekend parish Masses. Servers also help out during the liturgies of Holy Week, which provide a unique opportunity to learn and rehearse new skills. They may also serve at weddings and other special celebrations on a rotating basis.
Altar Sacristans
Coordinator: Carolyn Kling (617-332-3230)
Altar sacristans are responsible for washing and ironing the small altar cloths used at Mass to purify the vessels. Their work is very important for the liturgical life of our parish.

“In serving Holy Communion at the Masses I feel much closer to the congregation and to the liturgy.”

Eucharistic Ministers
Coordinator: Maribeth Scott (617-469-8110)
The Eucharistic minister is able to see in the eyes of the elderly, the young, the lonely, the rich and the poor, that these are also the presence of Christ in their midst. They are host/hostess to all who feed at the Lord’s Table. In addition, Eucharistic ministers are trained in how to prepare the elements before Mass. Ministers are scheduled according to their preferences.
Greeters
Coordinator: Maribeth Scott (617-469-8110)
The greeter’s primary role is to welcome all to the celebration. As the community leaves the church, the greeter sends all to take Christ to the world. Greeters also assist with the collection. Women, men and youth who are welcoming and caring of others would find this a rewarding ministry. Some couples or families may like to serve together as greeters. Ministers are scheduled according to their preferences.

Lectors
Coordinator: Please call the parish office at 617-527-7560
T
his is a ministry that welcomes all those who have an interest in scripture and are comfortable reading to a large congregation. The lectoring schedule is flexible and prepared far enough in advance that substitutes are readily available. The glory and comfort of the Word of the Lord become increasingly apparent to the lectors as a result of preparing the readings. Each reading brings new insights.
Liturgy Facilitators
Coordinator: Janey Todd
The Liturgy Facilitators are assigned to one Mass a month and are responsible for assuring that the assigned ministers are present, the environment, such as communion vessels, bulletins, etc., are in place and to support the ministers as they serve in their particular roles. One way to envision this is that the liturgical ministers serve the people and the Liturgical Facilitator "serves the servants".

Liturgy Planning Committee
Coordinator: Msgr. Dennis Sheehan (617-527-7560 x239)
This committee focuses on worship, the most important element of parish life. Members help plan many aspects of parish celebrations, though the greatest focus is on Advent, Lent, the Triduum, and other major feasts. Members also spend time learning about liturgy. Meetings are held once or twice a month, depending on the season.
